Electric passenger-vehicle registrations reached 30,325 units in August 2026, based on Vahan data cited by Financial Express. That was 50% higher than a year earlier and 12% lower than July.

Brand positions reported

Tata Motors: 12,983 registrations and 42.8% share.
Mahindra: 6,367 registrations and 21% share.
JSW MG Motor India: 4,568 registrations and 15.1% share.
VinFast: 2,196 registrations and 7.2% share.
Maruti Suzuki: 1,391 registrations and 4.6% share.
